Cafe Restaurant Winter Garden

The "Wintergarten" cafe-restaurant in the roofed, Baroque inner courtyard of the hotel, with its lush plants, undoubtedly constitutes the heart of the hotel, both physically and gastronomically: with deeply rooted, yet modern cuisine and homemade pastries as well as our excellent coffee.
As we remodeled the hotel, our priority was always to maintain its original character and its unique, historical charm, and to emphasize both whenever possible. 

Coffeehouse culture in the Wintergarten

There are many reasons to visit a coffeehouse. In the winter garden of Palais Hotel Erzherzog Johann, you can meet up with friends or spend time leafing through the newspaper. People come to have breakfast or enjoy coffee, accompanied by a piece of irresistible artwork from our in-house patisserie. The coffeehouse is a part of our culture and a second home for most Austrians.

Restaurant Wintergarten

Our standard menu is deeply rooted in Styrian cuisine with a modern inerpretation, and dishes are prepared featuring many products from Styria's "Genussregion" culinary regions. Evenings at the Wintergarten are all about exquisite, upscale cuisine, which the new chef de cuisine Gottfried Sammer.

The new wine cellar

Over the course of the renovations, we did't ignore our hotel's wine cellar either. This has now been made more accessible and is far more spacious than in the past. Wine tastings are also possible. It provides for comfortable get-togethers in an undisturbed atmosphere.

MONDAYS we are open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.
TUESDAY TO SATURDAY from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm and
SUNDAY from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
